Lagavulin Bay, Islay
One of the things that I loved about Islay was the profusion of wild flowers and nowhere was this more evident during our visit than in Lagavulin Bay. This tranquil bay is the home to the immaculately kept Lagavulin Distillery and the slightly less well maintained Dunyvaig Castle, which is now nothing more than a ruin perched on a rocky outcrop.
We accessed the bay through a grassy field which was full of wild flowers. This lead to the beach which in turn was edged with a glorious display of Ox Eye daisies.
